Terms of Service
Last updated: 18 October 2026.
These terms are an agreement between you and Michael Boccara, who operates Projector.Earth ("we", "us") from Israel. They cover EPIC.Projector.Earth (epic.projector.earth) and its single-feature sites: weather., skypics., presence., iss. and blueturn.projector.earth (together, "the app"). By using the app you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
Contact, including for complaints and removal requests: info@projector.earth.
How we handle your data is in the privacy policy.
1. Who can use the app
You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you before you sign in or publish anything. The app is free, and you may use it only for lawful purposes.
2. Your account
Signing in is optional and is done with your Google account. You are responsible for what happens under it. You can sign out and revoke the app's access at any time (see the privacy policy). We may suspend or block an account that breaks these terms.
3. Photos you publish (Skypics)
- You own your photos. Publishing does not transfer ownership.
- You must have the right to publish. By publishing, you confirm that you took the photo, or that you have the permission to publish it, and that publishing it breaks no law and no one's rights.
- Photos are public. A published photo, its location and your name and profile picture are visible to anyone, and anyone with the link can see the file in your Google Drive. We cannot control copies that others make.
- What to publish. Photos of the sky, taken from the ground. The app blurs the people it detects, but you remain responsible for what is in the frame: please don't publish photos that show people, faces, minors, vehicle plates or private places when you can avoid it.
- Licence to us. You give us a free, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, store, display, copy, resize, crop, analyze (including with automatic AI labelling) and show your photo and its details in the app, including on the globe, in clips and videos made with the app, and to use it to promote the app and Projector.Earth (for example on our websites, social media and presentations). Where reasonable, we credit you by the name shown with your photo. The licence lasts until you remove the photo. We may keep using promotional material made before that, but we will not make new ones.
- Removing a photo.
- You can remove your own photo yourself with the trash button on it in the app. That removes it from the app. It does not delete the file in your Google Drive, which stays viewable by anyone with the link until you delete it, or stop sharing it, in Google Drive.
- You can also ask us to remove a photo, at info@projector.earth. We commit to acting within one week.
4. What you may not do
- Publish content that is illegal, hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit, violent, or that infringes someone's copyright, privacy or other rights.
- Use the app to track, stalk or identify other people, or to share someone's location without their consent (for example in Presence).
- Scrape the app or its data, overload or bypass the data proxy and its rate limits, or try to break, probe or reverse engineer the service, other than what the law allows.
- Use the app's name or logo in a way that suggests we endorse you.
5. Complaints and takedown
If you think a photo or other content on the app breaks the law or your rights, for example your copyright or privacy, write to info@projector.earth with a link to it, what is wrong, and how to reach you. If you are the owner of a copyright, say so. We will look at the complaint and act, which may mean removing the content, normally within one week. We may remove any content, or end any account, that breaks these terms. We may keep a record of complaints and our answers.
6. Data and services from others
The app shows data and services from other parties: NASA EPIC imagery, EUMETSAT-derived cloud maps (CC0), weather and storm catalogs, Wikipedia, the ISS live stream from Sen (shown through YouTube), OpenStreetMap-based place names, and Google services. They belong to their owners and are subject to their own terms. They can change, be late or disappear without notice, and we are not responsible for them.
7. Information only
The app is for interest and education. Orbital data and times, including ISS pass predictions and the "Next Pass" calendar reminder (which can be off by a minute or more), weather, storm, fire and smoke data, sun and sky calculations, and the AI labels of photos, may be late, wrong or incomplete. Do not rely on the app for safety, navigation, emergency or any decision that could cause harm.
8. Our service
We provide the app free of charge and "as is", without promising that it will be available, accurate, error-free or fit for any purpose. We may change, limit or stop any feature, or the whole app, at any time. Some features depend on third parties and on quotas that we do not control.
9. Our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, loss of data, content or profit, or for anything caused by third-party services, by content other users publish, or by your use of the app. Our total liability to you for anything related to the app is limited to the amount you paid us for it, which is zero. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, for example for our own fraud or intentional wrongdoing.
10. Ending
You can stop using the app at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms. The parts that by their nature should continue (the removal rules in section 3, and sections 5, 8, 9 and 11) continue after that.
11. Governing law and courts
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. The competent courts in Israel have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute about them. If you are a consumer with mandatory rights in your own country, they stay.
12. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. We will publish the new version at https://epic.projector.earth/terms/ with a new date. If you keep using the app after a change, you accept it. If you do not, stop using it, and ask us to remove your photos if you want.
13. Everything else
If a part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Not enforcing a right does not waive it. These terms and the privacy policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the app.
